The glacial lake, Jökulsárlón, was a highlight of my time in Iceland. We drove through during the off-season for tourists so we had the entire place to ourselves. Small icebergs that have split from the arm of a glacier bob around in the lagoon until they’re small enough to float out of the lagoon to the ocean. I’ve never seen anything like this place before and I would highly recommend it. If you can, try to get there early to avoid the crowds or maybe visit during the off-season like we did. It was incredible to sit and take it all in without any distractions. I hope to visit again someday.
